Logan View Public School district has recently been notified that they are set to receive a donation from sporting goods retailer, Scheels, to help fund upgrades to the playground at Logan View Elementary School. Veteran Scheels associate, Codi Oberg worked with the administrators at Logan View to identify projects that could qualify to receive funds through the Scheels Foundation. The playground project was chosen as it will be able to serve not just the students of Logan View, but others in the community as well. There had already been funds being raised through the Parents In Education (PIE) group, so this donation will get the school closer to their fundraising goal. "The Scheels Foundation was created with the goal of helping to build strong communities in each of our markets. The foundation provides an opportunity for associates to find something that they are passionate about and take steps to make a lasting impact in their community". Codi Oberg has worked at Omaha Scheels for almost 20 years and her family has attended or taught school in the Logan View district for a couple of generations. The donation will be for the amount of $136,502 and will be paid in December 2023. Announcement of the donation and a short presentation took place prior to the Logan View School Board meeting on July 10, 2023.
